Donald Kleemann

Donald E. Kleemann, age 74, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Eunice C. Smith Home with family by his side.He was born on August 31, 1942 in Bethalto, Illinois, the son of the late Edward “Bert” & Leona (Johnson) Kleemann.He was formerly married to Dr. Linda L. (Goldbeck) Kleemann on December 27, 1969 in Lyons, IL.  She passed away on October 17, 2012.Donald was employed at NGA in St. Louis, MO and Homeland Security as a Cartographer and an Analyst for 33.5 years, retiring in August 2010. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River and the Kiwanis clubs of Wood River, Collinsville and Bunker Hill.  He enjoyed traveling, antiquing, classic cars, dancing, listening to Elvis, a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, and most of all, spending time with his children and grandchildren.He is survived by four children and their spouses, Joanna & Ryan Scroggins of East Alton, Nathaniel Kleemann of Bethalto, Peter & Cherie Kleemann of Rosewood Heights and Jonathan Kleemann of Bismarck, ND; three grandchildren, Jarod Foiles, Kelsey Foiles, and Taylor Scroggins; four siblings and their spouses, Marilyn Hendrick of Bethalto, Kathy & Mike Skinner of Rosewood Heights, Jean & Gary Robinson of Rosewood Heights and Elaine & Gary Witt of Fosterburg and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Preceded in death by his parents, wife and first born son Noah Kleemann.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River.Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wood River with Pastor Martin Schultz officiating.Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Bethalto.Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church and or Kiwanis.An online condolence and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
