Donald D. Harlan, 57, passed away 1:56 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Wood River on October 15, 1957, he was the son of Cecil and Madeleine (Adams) Harlan.
Don had been the finance officer and bookkeeper for East Alton American Legion Post 794. In addition, he had served as Post Commander; Past Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Squad 794, Detachment Commander of the Sons of the American Legion and Honor Guard.
He married the former Diane Schwan on January 14, 1999 in Edwardsville. She survives.
Surviving also are step-children, William (Jennifer) Lewis of Wood River, Rebecca (Robert) Alford of O'Fallon, MO; grandchildren, Alex Lewis, Madison Alford; brother, Jack (Judy) Harlan of East Alton; sister, Dorothy (Lee) Graham of North Port, FL; nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 6 p.m until time of service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
