Donald Lee Agney, 90, of Cottage Hills, IL passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023 in his home.
He was born to the late Raymond Phillip and Elsie Hazel (Murphy) Agney on January 3, 1933 in Pleasant Hill, IL.
Donald met Patricia Mae McLaine and they were married on May 27, 1954 in Hillsboro, IL, she precedes him in death October 27, 2011.
Donald served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by 5 sons: Raymond Phillip (Sandra) Agney of East Alton, Donald Lee (Petra) Agney Jr of, Wood River, William Joseph (Marcia) Agney of Kampsville, Tony Leon (Tracy) Agney of Cottage Hills, Mark Edward (Sandra) Agney of Jerseyville; 2 daughters: Pamela Colley of Bethalto, Donna Kay (Brian) Garrett of Godfrey; 4 sisters, Lorraine Collenberger, Mable Segrest, Shirley Ivy and Violet Agney; 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, Patricia, Donald is preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Lucille Allen; brothers, Tom and Elmer Agney; sisters, Mary Moore, Blanch Friesland and Doris Rybarczky; granddaughters, Taylor Diane Agney and Hannah Rose Agney and 2 sons in law, James Colley and Gale Allen.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm. Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights where services will be at 1 p.m. Friday with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com.
