Dolores Elaine (Searles) Yavorski passed away at 2:47pm on February 27, 2018 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on July 14, 1934 to Truman and Odette (Maquire) Searles. On October 8, 1955 she married the late William G. Yavorski at Main Street Methodist Church.
Dolores graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1952. She worked at Laclede Steel from 1951-1959. Then she stayed at home to raise her family. She later returned to work at H&R Block tax company from 1971-1996. She belonged to Rainbows at the Temple uptown. She was a member of Main Street Methodist Church. She was president of Mother’s Club and PTA while her children were in elementary school.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband William G. Yavorski; son Kevin Yavorski; sister Bernadine Brune; brother Truman (Bud) Searles; and great grandsons Djimon and Davi Lucas.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Fields and Steven Landreth; two lovely granddaughters and one grandson Ashley (Jason) Lucas, Jennifer L. Fields and Larry Watson. Brother in law Michael (Lorraine) Yavorski; Nephew William (Caroline) Brune; Niece Elizabeth Brune; Beloved great nieces Chelsea Brune; Emily (Michael) Butchko; extended family, friends and Alfee the family dog.
Special thanks to her caregivers Amy Tinnon, Sarah Myers, Lisa Hubbard and Hailey Hetzel; in addition to, Steve the ‘Handy Man!’
A visitation will be Friday, March 2, 2018 from 4-8pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey where funeral services will be held on Saturday March 3, 2018 at 10am.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
