Dixie Lee Foiles, 88, of Mozier, passed away on January 6, 2024, at the Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born on January 12, 1935, in Pleasant Hill, IL, the daughter of Harold & Kathryn Lenora (Pelikaan) Smith.
Dixie married Merlin Burdette Foiles on July 1, 1950, in Salem, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2007.
She was a member of St. Anselm Catholic Church where she served with the Altar Society and retired from Richter's Fertilizer where she worked as their secretary.
Dixie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janet & Robert Bick of Quincy; a son, Jeff Foiles (Sandra Sheppard) of Mozier; six grandchildren, Chad (Gina) Bick, Lisa (Rob) Warner, Angela (Chris) Calvert, Crystal (Jason) Muntz, Jenna (Luke) Pearse, Cole (Hannah) Foiles; five great grandchildren, Savannah Calvert, Brayden and Kylie Muntz, Barrett and Miles Pearse; two brothers, Larry and Gene Smith; and two sisters, Joyce Lawson and Rita Manetta.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela and Karen Foiles; six siblings, Nick Smith, Verna Puterbaugh, Terry Smith, Donna Vee Biggs, Kay Rombach and Gary Smith.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Gress, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday January 11, 2024, at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Kampsville with Fr. Don Roberts celebrant.
Burial will take place in the St. Anselm Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Anselm Catholic Cemetery.
