Dick DeWayne Jones, 67, died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023 rural Macoupin County. He was born June 8, 1956 in Carlinville, IL, the son of the late Charles and Sophia (Booth) Jones. He worked as a painter for many years.
On September 6, 1976 in Cottage Hills, IL he married Teresa Cason, and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth McCord (Donny) of Godfrey, two sons, Jeremiah Jones (Melessia) of Jerseyville, Kent Highsmith (Jennelle) of Bethalto, six grandchildren, Camron Fields, Able McCord, Haylie Jones, Jude Jones, Joslyn Highsmith and Gabe Highsmith, one brother, Robert Jones, one sister in law, Sandra Jones, two brother in laws, Charlie Denham and Will Inman and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Damien Jones, Joseph McCord, two brothers, Junior Jones, Donald Jones and four sisters, Betty Seaton, Patsy Denham, Erma Kamp and Pearl Inman. Visitation will be Monday, October 23, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Memorials may be made to Autism Partnership Foundation.
