Diane “Mimi” Brewer

Diane “Mimi” Brewer, 65, of Godfrey and formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 9:40 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at her home.  She was born February 16, 1952 in Granite City, a daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” and Betty (McCosky) Brewer.  She married Dennis Brewer on October 25, 1975 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and he survives.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and loved nature and entertaining others.  She enjoyed watching the birds, working with crafts, being with family and kids and always looking for a reason for a party.  She will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Tony Goodman of Pocahontas, Illinois; a son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Jessica Brewer of Granite City; four grandchildren, Devin Turner, Anthony Goodman, Anna Brewer and Evan Brewer; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie and Kenny Radas of Edwardsville and Dawn and Tom Gass of Granite City; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmie and Joan Brewer of Granite City; sister-in-law, Jennifer Smith of Granite City; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Don Smith.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Father Chris Comerford as celebrant.  Burial will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.  Memorial contributions are preferred and can be made to Stand up to Cancer and may be accepted at the funeral home.
