Diana Beck

Diana Mary Beck, RN/MSN, age 69 of Pocahontas, IL, died Monday, October 6, 2025, at Meridian Assisted Living Memory Support in Glen Carbon, IL.

She was born on Friday, September 28, 1956, in Highland, IL, the son/daughter of Quintin and Dolores (nee Koch) Munie.

On Friday, August 25, 1978, she married Keith George Beck at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Pierron, IL, who survives.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also a member of AORN (Association of Operating Room Nurses).

Diana was born in Highland, Illinois and grew up on the family farm southeast of Pierron, Illinois. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1974. Diana started her education in nursing by attending Kaskaskia Junior College where she earned her RN. Continuing her education, she earned her BSN from McKendree University and then earned her MSN in Nursing from SIU-E. Diana loved nursing. During high school, she was a candy striper at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

While she put herself through McKendree, she worked at Chastain's Nursing Home. After receiving her RN, she worked at Anderson Hospital when they first opened. Her first job there was assembling chairs in the ER, as there weren’t many patients. She continued to work there for more than 20 years. Diana worked at many different hospitals through the years in the OR and ER departments. Her last nursing job was at Missouri Baptist as a OR Nurse Educator, where she worked for 5 years. In addition, she also taught at Goldfarb College of Nursing. She retired in 2019.

Diana enjoyed gardening, reading and collecting teapots. She loved singing, and in her younger years she would sing at weddings and funerals. Diana enjoyed garage sales and hunting for a good bargain.
