Dennis Boren

Dennis Franklin Boren, 78, died at 2:38 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.  He was born November 25, 1938 in Olmsted, IL the son of the late Henry and Evelyn (Hise) Carter. He was the owner of Den-Son Cooling and Heating for 45 years.   He was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Alton and enjoyed playing music, watching the Cardinals play baseball and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog Yadi.   He was a member of the the Hibbard Masonic Lodge #249 in Brighton.  On November 29, 1957 in Alton he married Dolores J. (Zirges) and she survives.  Also surviving are three children, Michael Dennis Boren of Brighton, Ricky Gene Boren (Tammy) of Brighton and Denise Jo Krone of Godfrey, six grandchildren, Tiffani, Bradley, Nathaniel, Hannah, Kelsey and Peyton and four great grandchildren, Alexis, Blayke, Graycen and Jace.  Four brothers, Herman Boren (Dorothy) of Godfrey, James F. Boren (Frances) of Nebo, and Henry O. Boren (Sandy) of Brighton and two sisters, Marion J. Sanders (Arnold) of Godfrey and Rosa H. Berkel (Bill) of East Alton and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven Lynn Boren.   Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.   Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Heartland Baptist Church with Dr.  James Grant officiating.  Burial will be at Brighton Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Heartland Baptist Church.  Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
