Dennis Fitzpatrick

Dennis L. Fitzpatrick, 74, of Caseyville, IL, born August 7, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, died Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Missouri Delta Medical Center, Sikeston, MO, with girls by his side.

Denny graduated from Assumption High School, East St. Louis, IL, and then attended the University of Illinois. He was a proud graduate of U of I and remained a lifelong Illini fan. In his earlier years, he worked at his father’s construction company, before beginning his career at Illinois-American Water Company, which spanned over 30 years.

After retirement, Denny enjoyed traveling. Above all he loved being a dad to his girls and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren who will always remember “Grandpa is silly”.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Fitzpatrick, nee Baltrun; his father, George Fitzpatrick, Jr., a brother, Timothy Fitzpatrick; a sister, Theresa Fitzpatrick; an aunt, Do Wurth; and an uncle, Jim Fitzpatrick.

Surviving are his two daughters, Erin Fitzpatrick (Jeremy Muelchi) and Kelli Fitzpatrick Hendry; two grandchildren, Maria and Bo Hendry; a son-in-law, Trevor Hendry; a sister, Carole (Gregory) Corley; and many cousins. He is also survived by and missed by the Baker crew.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Monday, September 15, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.

Funeral: Memorial services will be held at 12 noon Monday, September 15, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL, with Fr. Clyde Grogan officiating.

Private burial will be held.
