Dennis Reilly

It is with great sadness that the family of Dennis “Dan” Raymond Reilly announce his passing on December 7, 2017 at age 81.  Dan is lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn “Sue” (Lovell) Reilly. He was a loving father to two daughters, Kelly Reilly Doty and Kristy Reilly Farley, sons-in-law Keith Doty and Edward Farley, and a beloved grandfather to grandson Charles Francis Farley.A native of Chicago, Illinois, Dan was born to Emmett and Genevieve (Byrnes) Reilly on June 4, 1936.  In 1951 Dan enlisted with the United States Air Force, at age 16, where he served for twenty-one years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. Dan is also survived by sister-in-law Carol Reilly, nephews John, Mike and Tim Reilly, and nieces Kathy Rogers and Lynn Vetter, all living in the Chicago area.A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  Interment will follow at a later date.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
