Denise Russell, 58, passed away at 11:07 pm on Thursday, January 5, 2017.
She was born on October 4, 1958 in Wood River, the daughter of James Frank and Alice Russell.
She worked at BJC Medical Group for Dr. David Riedel. Denise loved all animals, especially her dog, Feeona. Denise dearly loved all her family and friends, especially her young nephew, John Durrwachter. She greatly enjoyed music and dancing. Denise was a life long St. Louis Cardinals fan and always loved being by the water.
She is survived by her parents, three siblings, Lana (Richard) Jennett of Jefferson City, MO, J.R. Russell (Susie) Russell of Centennial, CO, Debbie (Keith) St. Cin of Godfrey; seven nieces and nephews, Alice Jennett, Annie (Brian) Spinneweber, Sarah Jennett, Matt (Karen) Ebbeler, Jon Russell, Greg (Rachel) Russell, Willie (Jill) Russell, John Durrwachter; her life long friend and companion, Mark McEuen.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: 5 A’s Animal Shelter.
