Deloris Dahn

JERSEYVILLE-  Deloris M. "Dode" Dahn, 79, died at 4:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at her residence.She was born in Fieldon on April 20, 1935, one of two children born to the late Ned & Ruth M. (Pruitt) Devening.Dode was a homemaker for the majority of her life, but had worked as a sales clerk at Famous-Barr at Alton Square for 10 years retiring in 1988.She married William Clayton "Buck" Dahn in July of 1952 in Jersey County, IL., and together they had three children and shared nearly 50 years before his death on April 17, 2002.Surviving are two daughters & sons in law, Phyllis & Tom Decker of Grafton and Janet & Rob Welsh of  Jerseyville; a son, Kevin Dahn of Herrin; five grandchildren & their spouses, Ryan & Carrie Decker of Grafton, Justin & Kelli Decker of Grafton, Bryan & Amanda Dahn of Jerseyville, Lindsay Welsh of Jacksonville and Chad Welsh of St. Louis, Mo.; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters in law, Sharon Devening of Jerseyville and Rowena Greene of Jerseyville.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cole Dahn in 2006; and a brother, Robert "Stub" Devening.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at noon on Friday.  Father William Hembrow will officiate.Burial will be in the Fieldon Cemetery.Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
