Deloris Wesolowski

Deloris “Jeanie” “Dee” Wesolowski, 73, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Feb. 9, 1943 in East St. Louis, Ill., she was a daughter of Melvin J. and Gertrude P. (Edwards) Powers.

She worked as an executive secretary for Millers Mutual Insurance and St. Anthony’s Hospital, both in Alton.  But she was most proud of her service to her country in the United States Marine Corps.  She was forced to end her active duty when she started her family.  She enjoyed her family immensely, especially her sons and grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Gary (Marie) Wesolowski of St. Louis and Curtis (Andrea) Wesolowski of Moro; 4 grandchildren, Lauren, Logan, Kara and Kyle Wesolowski; a sister, Donna (Bob) Stewart of Rosewood Heights; and nieces and a nephew, John Stewart, Paula Ford and Deanna Stewart..

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  Father Donald Wolford will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Wood River.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens, with full military honors by the VFW, Alton Post #1308 Ritual Team.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Support Community of Greater St. Louis.
