Delores R. “Dee” Sitton, 84, died at 7:50 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2019, at her home in Brighton. Born January 16, 1935, in Venice, IL, she was the daughter of Anthony and Irene (Glore) Cardwell. Dee married Harold E. “Snipe” Sitton in Arkansas on April 25, 1953. He preceded her in death in 2013 after 60 years of marriage. She was a wonderful homemaker, raising four children, a grandmother extraordinaire, and loved the Cubs and Elvis. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tricia and Jason Dickinson of Brighton; sons, Randy Sitton of Venice and Tony Sitton of Salt Lake City, UT, eight grandchildren, Cory and Hailey Poole, Adam and Ashley Poole, Tori Sitton and fiancé, Josh Jennemann, Teddie Porter and boyfriend Jeremiah Johnson, Jacob and Caty Sitton, Kauri Dickinson and boyfriend, Chris Wickenhauser, Gage Porter, Rhalee Dickinson. Also, surviving are thirteen great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Gabriel, Kennedy, McKinley, Abram, Madison, Gideon, and Isaiah Poole, Taytum Porter, Peyton and Mila Sitton, Van Johnson and one more due in November. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Cardwell of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Sitton and four brothers. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for the immediate family. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
