Deborah Marshall

Deborah E. Marshall, née Haas, 67, of Smithton, IL, born Wednesday, December 31, 1958, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026 at St. Louis University Hospital.

Debbie was a woman who found joy in life’s everyday moments and shared that joy generously with those around her. She had a special love for thrifting, always appreciating the stories hidden in well-worn treasures, and she cared deeply for animals, offering them kindness and affection whenever she could. She will also be remembered for her strong will and for always speaking her mind — a trait that made her both unforgettable and deeply genuine.

Deborah delighted in her daily routines — drinking her coffee, folding laundry, and settling in to watch Big Brother, the news, or her favorite soap operas. She especially cherished time spent with friends and family, whether catching up over food, laughter, or simply being together. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow. These ordinary moments were never ordinary to her; they were how she expressed love and connection.

She will be remembered for her warmth, her simple pleasures, her strong spirit, and the comfort she found in both people and routine. Deborah’s presence brought familiarity, honesty, care, and quiet happiness to the lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
