Deborah K. Oettle, 68, went to be with the Lord at 3:30 a.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center. Born December 10, 1948 in Alton, she was the daughter of Leo E. and Margaret (Wright) Wooff. Debbie retired as a broker for Millers First in Alton and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Godfrey. She loved babies, and was a grandmother to many, and also loved cooking and considered it her ministry to serve others through working in the kitchen at her church. On June 17, 1967 she married Michael K. Oettle in Alton. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Michael D. Oettle (Sherry) of Alton, Bob Oettle (Susie) of Godfrey, and Eric Oettle (Janet) of Cottage Hills, 7 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Leo Wooff (Penny) of Wood River, Gary Wooff (Carol) of Alton, and Jeffrey Wooff (Tina) of Alton, and two sisters, Sharon Boomer of Godfrey and Nancy Root of Godfrey. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Root. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2017. Reverend Adrian Das will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
