DeAnn R. Romero, age 56, of East Alton, passed away Sunday April 7, 2024 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
She was born March 5, 1968 in Granite City, IL, a daughter of Gerry, nee Riess, Romero of East Alton and Mike Joseph Romero, Jr. of Kent, WA.
In addition to her parents, DeAnn is survived by her step-mother, Sheilagh Romero of Kent, WA; her cherished children, Anglequec “Angie” Thornton (Robert Dixon) of East Alton, Nicole Lanahan of Troy, IL, and Jesse Lanahan of Pontoon Beach, IL; her adored grandchildren, Amelia Romero and Jaydan Silsbee, with the anticipation of welcoming her third grandchild; and her dear siblings, Mike Romero, III of Piedmont, MO, and Jason (Kristina Kampmann) Romero of East Alton.
DeAnn graduated from Roxana High School in 1986 and was known for her passion for animals, her love of relaxation, and her dedication to spending quality time with her family.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home, Inc., 205 E. Lorena Ave, Wood River, IL 62095 with Pastor Steve Gray officiating.
Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Gray Funeral Home, Inc. in Wood River, IL.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Centerstone, 2615 Edwards St., Alton, IL 62002 and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
