David Lee Walters, 73, of Granite City, IL, died at 2:36 p.m. Sat. Nov. 22, 2025 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born Mar. 6, 1952 in Hillsboro, IL to the late Ada Jane (Furness) Dahler and John Thomas Walter.
David married Grace Lorraine Forsyth on June 14, 1980 in Granite City. She preceded him in death Mar. 15, 2025.
David had been a mechanical designer for McDonnell-Douglas and later for Basler Electric. Following retirement, he taught as a Drafting Engineer at Vatterott. He loved to be outdoors and turkey hunted in in his younger years. He was also a movie buff and loved photography.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Charlene (James) Kenney, and Marlene Maguire, niece and nephews, Linda Seaborne, Daniel (Crystal) Kenney, Clinton Kenney, and Arthur John Maguire, great-nieces and great-nephews, Nora (Zack Roeske) Kenney, Tristan Kenney, Sara Kenney, Shane Rowan, Ivana Kenney, Nakoa Kenney, Anakin Kenney, Sara Urru, and Bradon Maguire, and great-great-nephews, Leo, Eli and Kai.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Arthur Lee Maguire, and a nephew, Stewart Lee Maguire.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
