David O. Scheffel, 68, died at 12:53 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2025 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville, IL.
Born May 7, 1957 in Alton, he was the son of Vernon and Eileen (Nelder) Scheffel. He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Brighton and also an active member of the Brighton Odd Fellows #366.
Surviving is a sister, Sue Eppel (Bob) of Godfrey, two brothers, Warren Scheffel of Alton, and William Scheffel (Helen) of Sanibel, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Brighton Cemetery. Pastor Jared Warix will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Brighton. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
