David Delmar Rea, 78, of Ozark, MO, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. David was born on September 27, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alton, IL to Junior L. Rea and Helen (Brinkley) Rea.
David’s family lived in the Alton area and later moved to San Bernardino CA. After the sudden passing of his mother in 1959, David and his brother Michael moved back to the Alton area to live with his grandmother, Stella Clowers.
He met Roberta Sillivan at Calvary Temple church in Alton and they were married on July 3, 1970. They had three children: Kerry, Kelly and Kraig. Later in life, David moved to southwestern Missouri to be closer to his family.
David loved to watch movies, especially John Wayne movies and 1950s Sci-Fi. He also regularly followed the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Eddie, Emma, Erik, Leah, and Slayten.
David is preceded in death by his father, Junior, and mother, Helen.
He is survived by his brother Michael; three children: Kerry (Jennifer) Rea of Grayslake, IL, Kelly (Patrick) Cross of Springfield, MO, and Kraig (Mandi) Rea of Sparta, MO; and five grandchildren Edward, Emma, Erik, Leah, and Slayten.
