David Lee Stewart, 60, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 13, 1956 in Wood River, he was the son of Kenneth D. and Betty L. (Wilder) Stewart.
He married Vickie Hausman March 12, 1993 in Edwardsville. She survives.
David worked as a machinist for the Owens-Illinois machine shop for 26 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially the University of Illinois Fighting Illini football and basketball teams. He also played fast pitch softball for many years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Betty Stewart of Bethalto; two daughters, Danielle (Andrew) Huddleston of Bethalto and Kelsie Stewart (Austin Ward) of Wood River; three grandchildren, Brynn, Avery and Addyson Huddleston; a nephew, Erik Brown and three great nephews, Brent, Christian and Logan Brown; and his mother-in-law, Joyce Hausman of Alton.
He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Karen Brown; and his father-in-law, Nelson “Gene” Hausman.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 18 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 9 a.m. until services begin at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
