David Laux

David L. Laux, 79, passed away at 10:58 am, on Friday September 21, 2012 at Alton Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side.

He was born in Alton on March 3, 1933 the son of the late Leland and Sylvia Lillian (Miller) Laux.

On October 3, 1981, he married Beverly Hoffmann in Greenville, IL. She survives.

David worked as a Communication Technician for AT&T for over 29 years. He served our country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, yardwork, and fishing. He also enjoyed being with family and pets.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Sarah Laux of Edwardsville; three sisters, Maxine and Marion Willis of Winchester, VA, Maurlyn Heppner, Alton, and Gaile and Jim George of Worden, IL; one brother Jim and Jerry Laux of Alton; one sister-in-law Joann Laux of Nixa, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Laux.

 

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 2 pm to 6 pm on Sunday September 23, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Monday September 24, 2012 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joan Marchall officiating. 

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park, in Godfrey.

Military Honors will be performed by the Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team.
