David Alan Bodkin, 65, of Madison, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 8:04 a.m. Sat. Aug. 3, 2024 at Gateway Regional Medical Center ER in Granite City, IL.

He was born June 21, 1959 in Granite City to the late Millard & Ella Belle (Tillman) Bodkin Jr.

On Feb. 14, 2004, he and Sharon Martin were married in Yellville, AR. She survives.

David retired from G.S. Robins as a chemical worker after almost 30 years of service. He had served in the Missouri National Guard and was a member of AmVets #204 in Madison. He also loved to play the guitar and sing and was a member of several bands including Snaggy Bend and Fire Lake.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Alicia (Chad) Lignoul of Dunedin, FL and Heather (Greg) Easler of Granite City; a son: Michael Bodkin of Tampa, FL; 2 grandchildren: Cameron Lignoul and Benjamin Easler; 2 step-grandchildren: Jake and Josh Lignoul; a great-granddaughter: Olive Lignoul; 2 sisters: Brenda Sveda of Moberly, MO and Kim Colburn of Doniphan, MO; and 2 brothers: Jimmy Bodkin of Doniphan, MO and Tommy Bodkin of Granite City.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: David Christopher Bodkin; and a sister: Deborah Bodkin.

The family will hold a private service with burial in Doniphan, MO.
