Darrin Sturgis

Darrin Dean Sturgis, 35, died at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born March 7, 1989 in Eugene, Oregon, he was the son of Debby Sue (Philp) Sturgis-Bucher and Gary Bucher of Branson, MO and the late Dustin Dean Sturgis.  Darrin worked for Labor Union Local 218. Darrin was a beautiful baby, beautiful child, and grew into a handsome man. He loved football from a very young age. Go Vikings!!  He loved his job and was very proud of working in the union. He worked hard for his boys, which he loved more than anything. His boys were his world. He was so proud of all of them. Darrin and his brother were best friends. They talked about everything from cars and motorcycles to real life issues, both good and bad. They always had each other’s back. Darrin started his own landscaping business called Sturgis Solutions. His dream was for him and his brother to work together on this business and pass it on to his boys. He had amazing, faithful customers who all loved him and the boys. We were so proud of Darrin; he was doing so good getting his life together. He loved the Lord, his family and his work. He was a very diligent, hardworking man. His dad and I are very proud of him. Along with his mother and father, he is survived by a brother, Devin Daniel Sturgis, his children, Darrion Dean Sturgis, Davion Darrin Sturgis, Darrin Dean Sturgis Jr., Darrius Daniel Sturgis, Julio Vasquez, Keon’dre Latham and Na’kesha Marie Latham, a grandchild, E’mir Latham, his favorite grandma, Patricia Cusic, and the mother of his children, Keonna Monique Latham. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Burial will be at Godfrey Cemetery in Godfrey, IL. Memorials may be made to the family.
