Daphne J Szczuka was born November 26, 1961, to the late William B and Betty Jo (Davis) Sheesley in Bartlett, TN. She attended CBC where she graduated with a BS in Chemistry. During college, she met the love of her life and married Anthony “Tony” Szczuka, Jr on December 29, 1984. They moved to St. Louis where Daphne was an avid dog breeder and trainer. She loved traveling and taking her dogs to shows where they often won different titles.
Daphne was also an avid collector of Model Horses and loved to travel and participate in Model Horse shows. Daphne and Tony would listen to books on tape as they traveled to their shows. Daphne enjoyed going out to eat, playing cards with friends, and just overall loved life. On July 9, 2022, Daphne passed away suddenly.
She leaves behind her husband of 37 years, her best friend, and her biggest fan, Tony Szczuka, as well as her sister, Rebecca. Daphne was a friend, aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, and cousin to many people who loved her deeply. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the German Shepherd Dog Club of America Juniors Program (GSDCA - Juniors) and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062. Checks should be made payable to GSDCA Charitable Trust FBO Junior Showmanship.
