Daniel J. Townsend, Sr., 61, passed away at his home on March 1, 2024.
Born July 29, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of Virgil Townsend and Pauline (Pelan) Metts.
Daniel worked as an Avionics Engineer for Boeing for 35 years before retiring in 2021. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, weightlifting, camping, and hunting.
Daniel is survived by his daughter, Alexandra (Mark) Harrison of St. Louis, MO; son, Daniel J. Townsend, Jr. of El Paso, TX; and a grandchild, August Harrison.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Townsend; and step-father, Jerry Metts.
Private service and burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
