Daniel R. Hickerson, 63, passed away at 12:05 am on Saturday September 2, 2017 at Parklane Care Center in Wentzville, MO.He was born on December 17, 1953 in Alton, IL the son of Guy Franklin and Helen Marlene (Tolle) Hickerson.Daniel had worked as a Defense Procurement Specialist for various military contractors for 30 years.  He served our country in the Navy during Vietnam later becoming a member of the Alton VFW and Alton American Legion.  He was also a member of the Alton Road Runners.  He also loved collecting sports memorabilia.  He is survived by two children Ben Hickerson of Greensboro, NC and Laura and her husband Chandler Atkins of Wentzville, MO; three grandchildren Landon, Abigail, and Everett Atkins.He was preceded in death by his father Guy Franklin Hickerson.Visitation will be held Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Brown St. Baptist Church in Alton.Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 6, 2017 at 10 am at Brown St. Baptist Church in Alton.Burial will take place at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.Memorials may be made to Brown St. Baptist ChurchElias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey is in charge of arrangements.Condolences may be found online at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
