Daniel F. McClain, 50, passed away at 4:48 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at home.
He was born on September 29, 1973, in Alton, IL to Daniel F. and Cynthia (Rector) McClain.
Daniel married Lonnie Williams on October 4, 1996, in Alton, IL. She survives.
He graduated from Alton High School. Daniel owned and operated McClain Enterprises, a home remodeling company.
Daniel was an avid outdoorsman spending his time scouting for arrow heads, hunting mushrooms in the Spring, fishing, and gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Eric D. McClain of Fosterburg, Austin McClain of Wheeling, IL and Saressa Riddell of Malden, MO; his mother, Cynthia (Harry) McClain-Mack of Bethalto; his father, Daniel (Nancy) McClain of Doxer, FL; his grandmother, Chris Rector; his mother-in-law, Kate (William) Jackson; three grandchildren, Benji McClain, Rain Riddell and Westyn Riddell; seven step-siblings; and many extended family members and good friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Eric M. McClain; his grandparents, Shirley Q. (Fowler) Usher-Rector, Marvin Rector, Newell E. Usher, and Eldon and Mabel McClain; and one step-sibling.
Visitation will be held 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Friday, August 2, 2024, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Brother Ralph "Bo" Schultz will officiate.
Burial will immediately follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
