Dateline: AltonDaniel J. Godwin, 49, passed away unexpectedly at 3:07 am Sunday October 5, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton with his wife by his side.He was born on November 22, 1964 in Madison, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph & Kathryn (Glassey) Godwin.He married the former Mary Ann Dodd on June 22, 1990 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  She survives. He worked for Boeing for more than 25 years, and was a Special Software Program Manager.  He loved his dog Harley and enjoyed raising St. Bernards.  He also loved computer gaming and had several online friendships with computer gamers.In addition to his wife, Mary Ann; he is also survived by his parents, Joseph & Kathryn Godwin of Alton; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen & Stuart Sinks of Brighton; three special nieces and nephews; Sydney and Jack Sinks, and Katie Flat; and Mary Ann Godwin’s son, Chad Doellman of Alton; and extended family.Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Wednesday October 8, 2014 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton where Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday October 9, 2014.Cremation will follow.Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.Online tributes and guestbook may be found at www.staten-fine.com
