Daniel “Danny” Willard Carlson, 77, of Belleville, IL, born Saturday, January 31, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Memorial Hospital West in Belleville, IL.
Dan began his career as a baker and later a foreman for Sandefur Baking Company in East St. Louis, IL. He continued his work in the baking industry at Haas Bakery before being elected Financial Secretary for the Bakery, Confectionery and Tobacco Workers Union Local 4 in St. Louis, MO, a position he held with pride and dedication. Daniel was also a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He was known for his strong work ethic, commitment to his union brothers and sisters, and deep devotion to his family.
Dan lost the love of his life, his beloved wife Maureen P. Carlson, in July of 1991. He carried her memory with him always and is now at peace, happily reunited with her once again.
