Dan Eugene Huebner, 70, died at 3:58 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton. Born March 3, 1947 in Wichita, KS, he was the son of Arnold William and Violet Mirindia (Wendt) Huebner. Dan was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton and The Gideons International. He retired in April of 2013 as a procurement agent for McDonnell Douglas now Boeing after 30 years of service. On July 3, 1970 he married the former Ann Recher Nitsche in Clayton, MO. Dan was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Along with his wife, Ann, he is survived by a daughter, Karen McCrorey of Alton, a son, Ryan Huebner of Alton, and two grandchildren, Garrett and Malia McCrorey both of Alton. Also surviving are three brothers, James “Jim” (Mary Beth) Huebner of Pittsburg, KS, Roger (Patricia) Huebner of Leesburg, VA, Randy (Babs) Huebner of Basehor, KS, and a sister, Beverly (Rex) Gould of Overland, MO. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Gideons International, Calvary Baptist Church in Alton, or the Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi, IL.
