Damon Earle Bornes, 37, departed this world June 15, 2026.

Damon was born on May 31, 1989, at Alton Memorial Hospital to Carlita Bornes. He graduated from Southwestern High School in May 2007 and built a career as a skilled welder in the railroad industry. Never one to shy away from hard work, Damon later pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by founding D&B Ground Solutions.

Above all else, Damon was a devoted single father. His greatest pride and joy was his son, Colton Michael Bornes. Their bond went far beyond that of father and son. Colton was his rock, his best friend, and the center of his world. 

Left to celebrate his loving memories: son, Colton Bornes of Brighton, IL; Mother, Carlita Bornes of Medora, IL;  siblings, Deanna Bornes of Sullivan, MO;  Jamie Bornes, Carla Greenweed, and  Benton Bornes  all of Brighton, IL; Close Family- Diana and Nick Turnbough of Sullivan, MO; Corey and Valerie Bornes of AL; Isabella and Drew Tepen of Grafton IL; Trenton and son Thomas Barnett of Brighton; Salena and Gabe Turnbough; Bowen and Reece Tepen; Logan Bornes; Andrew Biernath. 

Damon was preceded in death by his Father Leon Bornes of Brighton; His eldest Brother Robert Leon Bornes III of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his Maternal and Paternal Grandparents and several Aunts and Uncles.
