Dalton Roy Pasley, age 88, of Greenville, passed away On Saturday, October 12th, 2024.
At 3:30 PM on June 27, 1936, in the village of Nameoki, state of Illinois, Dalton was born to the proud parents Isaac Pasley and Pearl Pasley (Loesch). He was their 4th and youngest child. He graduated from Nameoki High School and quickly began work as a union painter. For 51 years he was an active member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT Local 471, District Council 58). During his career, he worked on bridges spanning the Mississippi, power plants, oil refineries, residential painting, automobile painting, sports stadiums and even worked painting the structural steel supporting the St. Louis Arch. Dalton had a lifelong love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles, owning several over his lifetime.
Dalton enjoyed hosting large family events, being the grill master for pork steaks, burgers, and seasonal alligator kabobs. He was quick with a joke and used sarcasm to express his true affections for his family. He was kind and generous, giving of his time and resources to whomever was in need (including always having candy for his grandkids).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Siblings Cedric Guy “CG”, Peggy, & Dalene, his wife of 55 years Betty Anne Pasley (Thomason), and three children: Dick Suzuki, Kevin Suzuki, and Carri Pasley (Maxwell, Williams, Torres).
He is survived by his first wife of 7 years, Joyce Wright, and their son Dalton “Clay” Pasley, of Murrieta California. In addition, he is survived by a son from his second marriage, Scott Isaac Pasley, of Greenville Illinois, 19 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
