Dale Pfleger, 88, of Alton died at 10:45pm Sunday September 13, 2026 at home with his family by his side.
He was the son of Walter Pfleger and Mabel (Willis) and on February 2, 1955 he married Sue (Gleason) and she survives. He worked as a mechanic and retired from Tri-Star Motors in 1997 after 27 years of employment. Prior to Tr-Star, he worked at McDonald Douglas for a number of years.
In addition to his wife Sue: his son Joe Pfleger (Elaine) of Alton, his two daughters; Julie Weston of Afton, Mo., Jami Grant (Dwayne) of Carrollton, Ill., his 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition, he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his 2 sisters, 7 brothers and his in-laws Joe and Mimi Gleason.
Graveside services will be held at the Carrollton City Cemetery Thursday September 17, 2026 at 10:30 am in Carrollton, Ill. with Pastor Dan Bowers to officiate. Luncheon to follow at the Brass Door in Carrollton, Ill. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
