Dale Norris, 84, formerly of Rosewood Heights, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.
Born Dec. 7, 1939 in St. Francis County, MO, he was a son of Lloyd and Mabel (Propst) Norris.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Dale worked as a dispatcher for CBW Transport in South Roxana. He enjoyed all kinds of sports, particularly the Cardinals (when they were winning) and Mizzou football and basketball teams.
He married Gail P. “Trish” Davis Apr. 14, 1962 in Rosewood Heights. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2014 after 52 years of marriage.
Survivors include his son, Bryan (Kristie) Norris of Godfrey; daughter, Tricia (Frank) Smith of Rosewood Heights; four grandchildren, Frankie (Melanie) Smith, Ryan (Megan) Bethel, Bryan (Ashley) Frost and Heather Simpson; great grandchildren, Nate, Maddy, Bryan, John, Stella, and Holden; a brother Ron (Mary Ann) Norris of Brighton; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Bering.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 20 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10 a.m. until services begin at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow at Woodland Hill Cemetery.
