Dale Yvonne Jones, born March 24, 1949, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Illinois, passed away peacefully holding her husband's hand on March 20, 2026. She was the daughter of Gerald Meyers and Aleta Garver Meyers.
Dale graduated from Roxana High School in 1967, where she was an accomplished flutist in the school band. She graduated with honors, ranking sixth in her class, and was the recipient of the prestigious John Philip Sousa Award.
She continued her education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on a teaching scholarship, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1972. While at SIUE, she achieved Dean's List honors every term and was a member of the honor society Rappa Delta Pi.
On June 21, 1969, Dale married the love of her life, Dr. Daniel M. Jones. Together they lived in Davenport, IA and Wood River, IL, before settling in Bunker Hill in 1973, where they established the Bunker Hill Chiropractic Clinic. Dale played an integral role in the success of the clinic, assisting with bookkeeping and advertising. Dale dedicated part of her career to education, teaching fifth grade at Meadowbrook School in the Bethalto School District.
She was a devoted mother to her children, Richard Jones (born August 29, 1975) and Elaine Jones Baxter (born June 29, 1977) and a proud grandmother to Avah Jones, Deagan Jones, Emma Baxter, Everly Baxter. Also surviving is her sister, Nancy Mills of Aledo, TX.
Dale was a faithful member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hamel where she shared her loved of music as a member of the adult choir. She was also a founding member of the Bunker Hill Lions Club, reflecting her lifelong commitment to service and community. Dale will be remembered for her intelligence, dedication to her family, her love of music, and her generous spirit. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. and on Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hamel from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.
Funeral services are Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Hamel, IL.
