Dale R. “Weasel” Darr, 86, died peacefully at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Jerseyville Manor.
He was born in Piasa, IL on November 25, 1937, the youngest of 9 children born to Chester and Blanche (Schaaf) Darr.
Dale married Nina Rothe on October 21, 1962, in Jerseyville, IL. They were married 52 years until Nina's passing on January 1, 2015.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Londa and Brian Anderson of Medora; two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Debbie Darr of Shipman, Chester and Tammy Darr of Alton; eight grandchildren, Zach and Kady Darr, Kaylee and Daniel Raney, Kelsey and Chris Link, Seth and Tiffany Darr, Logan Anderson, Bryce (Connor) Anderson, Lukas Anderson, and Briann Anderson. ten great-grandchildren with one more arriving in April, Harrison, Deacon, Mason, Ariya, Anna, Addy, Aurora, Rose, Jackson, and Avery; one sister, Geraldine Cox, four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Fern Darr, Della Freeman, Verna Hewitt, and Ina and Bill Lowis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nina; one son, Ronald Eugene Darr; one sister, Mauriette Stone and 6 brothers, Eldon, Myron, Dwight, Floyd, Clyde, and Loren Darr.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Shipman Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.mm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Wild Pickins Winery in Chesterfield.
Memorials may be made to Shipman Cemetery.
