Chesterfield, MOCyril “Nick” Koch D.D.S., age 88, formerly of Alton, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014, at Brooking Park Nursing Care.He was born January 17, 1926, in Highland, IL, the son of John and Wilhelmena (Wagner) Koch. He served in the 20th Armored Division in the U.S. Army. He married Geraldine Wetstein on October 3, 1953 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and she preceded him in death in 2004. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.Dr. Koch owned and operated a dental practice on Milton Road for 50 years. He was a member of Madison County Dental Society and was instrumental in establishing the Southern Illinois Dental School in Alton. He was an initial member of the Lockhaven Country Club, as well as the Knights of Columbus. An avid golfer, he also enjoyed traveling and bowling.He is survived by six children and their spouses, Anne Glogovac (Vic) of Maryland Heights, MO, Kathryn Fellbaum (Bryce) of Idaho Springs, CO, Mary Ellen Dellwo (Lawrence) of Forest Lake, MN, Robert Koch M.D. (Kathleen) of Apple Valley, MN, Carol Koch and her husband, Jim Shoun, of Edwards, CO, and Bill Koch of Minneapolis, MN; a sister, JoAnn Fuhler of Highland, IL; sixteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.In addition to his wife, Geraldine, he is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Frances; a brother, Paul Koch; and a sister Adrienne Long.Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2014, from 9:00 am until the time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.A private family burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation.Online condolences and guest book may be found at
