Curtis “Red Ryder” Morten, 81, passed away at 6:35 pm Sunday October 28, 2012 at Alton Rehab and Nursing with his family by his side.

 

He was born in Equality, IL on August 31, 1931 the son of the late Bill and Merle (Henderson) Morten.

He married Leah McDonald 1952. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2010.

He worked at Owens Illinois Glass Company and attended the Well Worship Center. He was an avid CB’er for twenty years, and enjoyed fishing at his cabin in Gillespie, his truck, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Steven and his spouse Sue Morten; Mike and his spouse Mary Morten of East Alton; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a sister Ruby Fritz of Alton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and spouse.

In celebration of his life, there will be a memorial service at 12:00pm on Thursday November 1, 2012 at the Well Worship Center in Alton, IL, with Rev. Joe Dunnagan officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Well Worship Center.
