Curt Reno

Curt Alan Reno, 72, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease. He was born on July 8, 1953, in East St. Louis, IL, to Ardell “Art” and Esther Lee, nee Mueller, Reno.

A 1971 graduate of Althoff Catholic High School, Curt was employed by Taylor Roofing, Wilke Window & Door, and several other companies throughout his career. Curt lived an active and social life, finding joy in hunting, playing pool, competing in Belleville City League fastpitch softball at South Side Park, and participating in co-ed and church volleyball leagues. He also treasured time spent with family and friends playing a variety of card games.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Obernuefemann.

Curt is survived by his loving and caring wife of 33 years, Sherri, nee Taylor, Reno; his son, Garrett (Mariah Gass); his sister, Gail (Terry) Kostel; his brother, Lane (Sandy) Reno; three sisters-in-law, Patti Stephens, Catherine Taylor Yank, and Debbi (Kent) Scharf; two brothers-in-law, Rick (Theresa) Taylor and Dave Obernuefemann; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Massini Merzkani for his compassionate and supportive care in recent years.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2025, at George Renner & Sons Funeral Home, Belleville, IL.
