Cora Faye Garcia, age 79, of Madison, died on Friday, June 26, 2026 after a long battle with dementia.

She was born in Shaw, Mississippi and lived in the Delta area of Mississippi for almost 40 years before relocating to the St. Louis area in the late 1970's. She worked in the fast food industry in the Granite City area for a number of years before taking a job as a housekeeper at the former Lutheran Altenheim Nursing Home in North St. Louis for seven years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Manley... Her father, Gale Humphreys... Three sisters, Retha Mae Keith of Moorhead, Mississippi , Evelyne Washington of Carrolton, Mississippi, and Gail Meyers of Clinton, Mississippi, her first husband, Cecil Roberson of Indianola, Mississippi, and a grandson, Christopher Ryan Roberson of Indianola, Mississippi.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Garcia of Madison, Illinois, her sister, Barbara (Joe) Grammer of Leland, Mississippi, her brother, Garland (Susie) Humphreys of Leland, Mississippi, her children, Camilla (Randy) Plunkett of Grapevine, Arkansas, Stephanie Roberson of Indianola, Mississippi, eight grandchildren... Braxton Hurst of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Mary Leopard of Grape vine, Arkansas, Whitney Crow of Water Valley, Mississippi, Payton Lawrence of Yazoo City, Mississippi, Tara Lawrence of Indianola, Mississippi, Mindy Hall of Oklahoma, Ross Plunkett of Arkansas, and Donna Kaye Burchfield of Arkansas and 13 great-great grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest at Hedden Chapel Cemetery Memorial Gardens in Sheridan, Arkansas.
