Constance "Connie" Jean Pollard

Constance "Connie" Jean Pollard, 63, passed away at 2:00 am on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at her home under the care of BJC Hospice, with her family by her side.

She was born on October 26, 1946 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Edward E. & Mary E. (Witt) Malone.

She married Larry Pollard on July 10, 1964 in Meadowbrook. He survives.

Connie worked at Lela's Beauty Shop in Roxana. She previously worked at Dollar General for over 13 years and Park n Shop for 4 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved crafts, playing bingo and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and her mother of Cottage Hills, she is survived by a daughter and her fiance, Yvonne Carter & Nelson Allsbury of Worden; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry & Jackie Pollard of Alton and Denny & Crystal Pollard of South Roxana; four grandchildren, Drew Carter, Christian Pollard, Paige Carter and Ethan Pollard; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Cook of East Alton and Linda & Dr. Arthur Lippoldt of Edwardsville; a brother and sister-in-law, Rick & Cindy Malone of Dorsey and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, a brother-in-law, John Cook, 2 sister-in-laws, Margie Paris and Maxine Geisler and a very special aunt, Deloris Lawrence.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Charles West officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
