Compton, William Ray, 45, of East Alton, Illinois, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 21st, 2017. William was born on June 25, 1972 in Alton, Illinois to Charlotte (Compton) Locke and the late Danny Compton. William was preceded in death by his son William Jr., Maternal Grandparents Curtis and Juanita Rea and Paternal Grandparents Arletta and Landon Fisher. William is survived and loved by his Mother and Stepfather Charlotte and Allen Locke, Brother and Sister-in-law Chris and Linda Compton, Children Eric Compton, Brittany Compton, Dillon Compton and Brady Compton, and Grandchildren Andre Embrey, Kyren Compton, Ari'Anna Embrey, and A'Marley Embrey. William will forever be known for his kind and caring heart. He loved being a father to his children and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. A family gathering was held to celebrate his life on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Memorials are suggested to the Alcoholic Rehabilitation Community Home (ARCH), 1313 21st Street, Granite City, IL 62024. Marks Mortuary in Wood River was in charge of arrangements.
