Coleen Daniels

Coleen Jeanette Daniels, 84, died at 11:50 p.m., Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, following a period of declining health.

She was born in Hardin, Illinois on November 19, 1939 and was the daughter of Gervis B. and Constance (Stiles) Ramsey.

She married George Daniels on September 13, 1958 at the Rosedale United Methodist Church and together they shared 58 years of marriage prior to his death on January 20, 2017.

Coleen was a homemaker, who took great pride in caring for her home and her family. She enjoyed reading romance novels and anything written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, doing puzzles, and baking. Her Ready Ice Chocolate Cake was a family favorite. Her pride and joy were her grandkids, and she cherished the time that she was able to spend with them.

Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Lynn and Robert Cox of White Hall, Bonnie and Ed Foley of Washington, Missouri and Tony and Karen Daniels of White Hall; six grandchildren and their spouses, Lance Foley of White Hall, Brittney and Robbie Jasper of Washington, Missouri, Matt Seats of Carrollton, Jessica and Ben Stetson of White Hall, Jacob Rachal of Jacksonville, and Nina Daniels of White Hall; nine great grandchildren, Henry and Samuel Jasper, Dean, Julien, and Nora Stetson, Myles, Gavin and Wade Seats and Saylor Rachal; two sisters and a brother in-law, Joyce and Chuck Younkers of Fairfield, California and Vinnie Rymel of Lincoln, California; two brothers and sisters in-law, Alfred and Margaret Ramsey of Jerseyville, and Eric and Molly Ramsey of White City, Oregon; and a sister in-law, Gisela Ramsey.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death a daughter in infancy, Arlene Daniels; a brother, Gervis "Rickey" Ramsey; and a sister, Vera Greisemer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Kane Baptist Church.  Frank DeWitt will officiate.

Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Kane Baptist Church.
