Clyde "Junior" Spann, Jr., 84, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon.
Born December 8, 1931 in Hartford, he was the son of Clyde T. and Gladys (Malone) Spann.
On February 23, 1951, he married Shirley Ann Retzger, sharing 65 years together..
Clyde was employed by Olin Brass in East Alton, retiring in 1985. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed elk hunting in Colorado. He was an active member of the Hartford Assembly of God Church before retiring to the Lake of The Ozarks where he became a member of the Camdenton Assembly of God Church.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Shirley; son Michael (Pamela) Spann of Roxana; two daughters, Alison Spann of Wood River, Jo Ellen (Robert) Spann of Fieldon; eight grandchildren, Aaron and Kyle Warner, Rebecca (Bryan) Hellrung, Todd (Kelly) Spann, Jessica (drew) Marshall, Justin (Mandi) Hartsock, Tyler Hartsock, Cheri (David) Hokenson; and seven great grandchildren, David, Candice and Kaley Hokenson, Isabella Hartsock, Kyle, Kinley and Kane Spann; two brothers, James (Joyce) Spann, Alvin (Jeanette) Spann all of Hartford; and a sister, Shirley (Charles) Hendricks of Hartford.
His parents and an infant brother, Jerry Spann preceded in death.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services.
Private burial will be at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
