Cletis Kreider

Cletis W. Kreider, 92, died at 11:12 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab.  He was born January 2, 1925 in Alton the son of the late William and Leeva (Hochuli) Kreider.  He retired from Olin Corporation as a manager of equipment and design.   He was a member of the former College Avenue Presbyterian Church and former member of Alton Eagles Club.  On February 16, 1946 in Alton he married Marjorie (Wiseman) and she preceded him in death.  Surviving are one daughter, Diane Stockman of St. Louis, MO, one son, Brad Kreider (Patty) of Alton, four grandchildren, Chris Kreider (Jessica) of Alton, Tessa Goldsworthy (Dr. Aston) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Dr. Brandon Alexander (Kate) of St. Petersburg, FL, Claire Stockman of Kansas City, MO and two  step grandchildren,  Matt Tungett (Melissa) of Alton and Katie Wieckhorst (Tim) of Brighton,  and nine great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.  Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.  Additional information and online guest book may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
