Claybourn “Clay” V. Brown II, 58, passed away at11:02 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born on September 22, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MI, the son of Claybourn V. Brown and Grace (Seaton) Anderson. He married Carol P. Knoester on March 12, 1981 on the beach in Florida. Clay was an investigator for the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s office since 1979, most recently in Child Support Unit. He was well known for having taught dance and Dancercise since the early 1970s. He cherished his upbringing in the Catholic faith. He enjoyed dancing, sky skiing and creating a tropical paradise with banana and palm trees. In addition to his wife and his mother, Grace Anderson of Southfield, Michigan, he is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Athena and Gerald Green of Muskegon, MI, Karina Brown of West Hollywood, CA and Erica Brown of Worden; three grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan and Jesah Green; his brothers and sisters, Michelle, Marie, David, Allen, Carolyn, Marilyn and Wendy and his Uncle Lionel and Aunt Louizor Brown. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 30, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Autenrieth officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville.
