Christopher William Fricker, 30, died suddenly on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital.He was born in Alton, Illinois on January 21, 1988, and was the second of five children born to Carl William and Theresa Marrie (Smith) Fricker Jr.Growing up in the a large family, he became the "life of the party" early on. He was happiest when he was making other people laugh and never allowed life to get in the way of a good time, and was quick to point out and remind you just in case you had forgotten, the "He was kind of a big deal." He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, Pokémon Go, and video games, and was basically always a kid at heart, which in his own words, is what made his daughter and nieces and nephews, like him the most.He graduated in 2006 from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville and was currently employed as a landscaper with Scenic Views Landscaping in Edwardsville.Surviving are his parents, Carl and Theresa Fricker of Alton; his daughter, who was the center of his universe, Sydney Lynn Fricker; three sisters and a brother in law, Heather Edgell of Jerseyville, Holly Fricker of Alton and Ashley and Andy Jenkins of Alton; a brother and sister in-law, Derek and Katelyn Fricker stationed at Fort Wainwright, Alaska; his grandparents, Helen Bick of Jerseyville and Larry and Mary Smith of Alton; along with many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Carl Fricker Sr., and an aunt, Pamela Smith.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to his family in care of Crawford Funeral Home.You may find an online guestbook at www.crawfordfunerals.com.
