Christopher Michael Lewis,  32, passed awayat 3:11 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in Granite City, Illinois.

He was born on March 26, 1981 at Fort Stewart, Ga., and was the son of Dennis & Joyce (Johnson) Lewis.

Christopher grew up in Jerseyville, and graduated in 1999 from Jersey Community High School.  He then obtained his Associates Degree in HVAC from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville and had worked in the heating, cooling, and refrigeration.

Christopher met Randi Weissenfluh and they had two wonderful children together, Parker, age 7, and Samantha, age 5.  Christopher was a loving and caring father, who enjoyed spending as much time with his children as possible.

Surviving are his mother, Joyce Smith, and her companion, Jim Hardwick of Jerseyville; his father & step mother, Dennis & Tammy Lewis of Hershey, Pa.; a sister & brother in law, Melissa & Mathew Portell, and their son, Harrison of Nasvhille, Tn.; a step sister, Shannon Lewis of New York, New York; uncles & aunts, Gary & Mike Johnson, and their wives, Renee & Sherry, Sue Taylor of Hillview, and her husband, Jim, Jim Lewis and his wife, Kathy,and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Kathryn, (who Christopher had a special bond)  & Curtis Johnson, Betty Lewis, James "Joe" Lewis; two uncles, George Johnson and Curtis Johnson Jr. and cousins, Heather (Johnson) Wendel, Shannon and Darryl Johnson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m., Saturday.  Rev. Brent Meyer will officiate.

He will be laid to rest in the Kane Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to his children, Parker and Samantha in care of the funeral home
